Scam: 1992

Basically, the plot of the series belongs to the 1980s, and later follows the scam that happens in 1992. Harshad Mehta is the protagonist of the story, who is a stockbroker by profession. The story is about his desperate attempt to take the stock market as high as a skyscraper. Eventually, the downfall follows, and so is the tragedy that strikes his life left, right, and center.

The story astonishingly unravels around this man, Harshad Mehta, who is initially very aspirational, seemingly harmless, and a composed person. Gradually he gets involved with various bank transactions of big amount where he starts making money by taking higher risks. His lust to rise bigger in wealth makes him compromise his ethics. He enters into a complex trap of playing with regulations in various indirect ways. The series beautifully captures how Harshad Mehta and his companions manipulated loopholes in the regulatory system for their own good.

No matter how hard you try to fool around, there comes a time when you get caught. The same happens in this story as well. The government leaves no stone unturned to burst the bubble created by Harshad. The trail gets interesting when Harshad keeps his best foot forward to hide all the wrongdoings. At the same time, politics spices up the story. Here the government is adamant on taking him down. On the other side, Harshad is trying to clear the traces of the path he has walked. His fraud not only affects his own reputation but also is going to take down the daily meals of many common people including his own acquaintances.
