Ryo, later on, reveals that his recent journey to the Amazon Rainforest revealed the true existence of demons in our world, but that the world’s governments are containing this information to avoid panic. Ryo and Akira then begin their journey of fight several demons including Amon’s lover Sirene and the vicious Jinmen who was actually liable for the deaths of Akira’s parents. Although the response to its graphic content and ending was criticized heavily, this show was appreciated for its animation, background score, characterization, and most of all openly LGBT characters, while also showing faithfulness to the original manga were praised.
